Viper

Equipment

Waveform Digitizer with automated Glitch and Transient detection

Use case 1: Automated EOS (Electrical Over Stress) Checker

Standalone “1U” size instrument that can be interfaced with any ATE for automated Spike Check.
Super high speed automated Spike checking capability with high accuracy and resolution.
Monitors 32 to 192 channels per Viper.
Only needs one run of test program to capture all data.

Ease of setup and use:

  • Does not require highly experienced engineers to scope for spikes
  • Promotes utilization – improves compliance and quality
  • Repeatable / reproducible results

Interfaced through LAN with web based GUI’s that allows easier user setup and experience.
Automated report generating with scope screens per channel.
Feasible to integrate with ATE boards and Testers in Production mode for 100% Test and bin-out options on HVM mode.
Capability for a closed loop-quality control requirement with post quality verification details.
Proven functional track record across multiple (>20) standard ATE tester platforms including latest Uflex/V93K/T2000 with options to add additional ATEs.

Use case 2: TEST capability Extension –

  • Add extra resources like DPS or digitizer to any existing ATE system.
  • Extra resources are directly connected to loadboard using high density connector.
  • Viper is compact external box and does not install hardware in existing ATE.
  • No ATE down time.
  • No Test config change.
  • Viper is controlled over standard Ethernet.
  • A SW Viper library is provided for the ATE which allows the test program to use the extra resources, like setting voltage, regulation, clamping for DPS and reading current and so on.
  • Debug panels, checkers, calibration SW is all executed on the Viper system itself and controlled from a web interface server which can be accessed using a standard webbrowser on the ATE tester system.

Reasons Why

VIPER embeds SW tools, calibration and diagnostics
VIPER analyses and detect DUT waveform Glitches and Transients
For characterization test benches and mass production test cells

Product Presentation

Viper is a massive parallel high speed Voltage measurement system

  • 32 to 1000 of channels
  • Marks location in test program of extreme events

Requirement to measure Contact Resistance

  • Current measurement is intrusive, requires path change from tester to DUT
  • Voltage measurement can be added even on existing loadboard by adding wires/traces

New method to identify contact resistance issues by only measuring less intrusive Voltages

  • Identify location in test program where/if excessive current is used
  • Can be added to existing setups to debug issues
  • No need to redesign interface boards / probe cards
